This Privacy Policy explains how CurbSync ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our WhatsApp-based airport pickup assistant at curbsync.app.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
- WhatsApp phone number — provided automatically when you message us. Used to send you flight updates and curb time estimates.
- Flight numbers — the flights you ask us to track. Used to retrieve live flight data and send you alerts.
- Postal code area (premium subscribers only) — the first three characters of your postal code, used to estimate your drive time to Toronto Pearson Airport. We do not store your full postal code.
- Payment information — processed entirely by Stripe. We do not receive or store your credit card details. We receive only a confirmation of payment and your subscription status.
- Usage data — message timestamps and service interactions, used for debugging and service improvement.
2. How we use your information
- To provide live flight tracking and curb time estimates
- To send you WhatsApp alerts about your tracked flights
- To calculate personalised leave-by times based on your drive distance (premium only)
- To process and manage your subscription via Stripe
- To improve the accuracy and reliability of the service
3. Information we do not collect
We do not collect your full name, email address, home address, or any government-issued identification. We do not build profiles, run advertising, or sell your data to any third party.
4. Data sharing
We share your information only with the third-party services required to operate CurbSync:
- Twilio — delivers WhatsApp messages on our behalf. Your phone number is transmitted to Twilio to route messages.
- FlightAware — provides live flight data. Flight numbers are sent to FlightAware to retrieve status and alerts. No personal information is shared.
- Stripe — processes payments for premium subscriptions. Stripe's privacy policy governs the handling of your payment information.
- Amazon Web Services — hosts the CurbSync service infrastructure in Canada. Your data is stored and processed in a Canadian region.
- Google Maps — used to estimate drive times from your postal code area to the airport. Only the first three characters of your postal code are used.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
5. Data retention
- Active tracking sessions are retained for up to 24 hours after a flight completes
- Flight alert logs are retained for 7 days for debugging purposes
- Subscription status is retained for as long as you have an active or recent subscription
- You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us
6. Your rights
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information
- Withdraw consent for us to use your information

7. Children's privacy
CurbSync is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of CurbSync after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
